Music Director

We are pleased to introduce Sara McClure as our new Music Director. Sara is from the Philadelphia region and has been active in church music since she was a child. She recently earned her Master of Music in Choral Conducting at East Carolina University and is moving to Kansas City because her fiancé is in doctoral studies here and serves as director of choral music at the nearby Lutheran Church of the Resurrection. She has led choirs in her home church, Chestnut Hill United Church of Philadelphia, and for St. James United Methodist Church in Tarboro, NC while in school. Sara says, “I am passionate about blending music with worship to enhance congregational experience and bringing glory to God; I look forward to finding new ways to share my life’s passion…music!”

She received her bachelor’s degree from the College of William and Mary. Sara has served on the adjunct music faculty of Montgomery County Community College and directed choirs on campus. Through per parents and her home church, Sara has had sustained exposure to contemporary Christian music and has played piano with a group in her church similar to our Prairie House Band. Please welcome Sara to Prairie as she begins this Sunday, October 7th. She is employed 25 hours a week and will also work with children and youth music. You can reach her through her church e-mail (
